This family booked a full storytelling session in order to catch up on some professional images and capture extended family members in on a rare visit. I love working to creatively design sessions in order to give you plenty of unique images and cherished memories from an entire day spent in the company of those you love. During this session, we were able to capture preschool portraits for the youngest, a 13-member family photo with local and out-of-state relatives (& family dog included!), a break-away grandparent-grandchild photo op, many candids, and a mini couples session! I love providing a variety of images that can truly stand alone - you'll never receive a whole gallery of identical images from me. If you have a great idea for making the most out of your full storytelling session, please get in contact- I'd love to hear from you!!

Late summer through early fall is the PERFECT time for family photography - whether it's an annual tradition for you or a more rare special occasion: it's worth capturing your sweetest memories now because 1) our vegetation is still lush and green, 2) we have some of the BEST weather of the year at this time in the PNW, and 3) as the wheel spins towards winter, the light begins to slant down in new and subtle ways, enhancing your photos with gorgeous natural lighting. Plus you get your photos back in plenty of time to order holiday cards or gifts! Below are highlights from two new families I had the pleasure of photographing - both chose to hold their sessions at beautiful city parks, located near the water. Enjoy!
This is it -- the last hurrah of summer!! I am SO thankful I've gotten the opportunity to reach my personal photography goals for the summer, and grow as a photographer! First at the beginning of summer I had the opportunity of stretching my limits (my camera's limits!) and creating some fine art images with the lovely Kelsey Dylan. It was a wonderful exercise in creative low-light/night photography, and I'm quite pleased with the results. The images are sweet, spooky, expressive, and ethereal...exactly what I was going for! My next goal of the summer summer was to explore astrophotography and capture some starry night shots at one of my favorite hidden spots in nature. The results are so beautiful!! I'm thankful to have captured the feel of this special place. Now though it feels like playtime is over, and it's time to get back to serious business - fall is busy season for family photos, high school senior portraits, and more! Please enjoy a sneak peek of one family's sweet August session with me - and stop by for a round of mini sessions next weekend- my newest fall addition! Revised minis session dates: SATURDAY ONLY! In June I had the honor of working alongside a number of different artists on a collaboration I created to celebrate the summer solstice. The details for the shoot were formed in conversations with a couture fantasy gown design duo, along with the addition of a local model and make-up artist. The group was so fantastic to work with, I knew we could pull it off!! In my mind, I had a vision for a particular image - shot from below - with our sun goddess atop a hill, and the bright evening light glowing behind her. I knew that the perfect location was out there, and after some scouting was able to find that it did indeed exist in Seattle. I was SO happy to find the exact spot to match the vision in my mind! We had a beautiful time exploring this Seattle location, laughing and enjoying an evening making art together. Please check out & support the work of my co-creators, who helped to make this shoot happen! On Instagram: @eidoloncouture (gown designer), @andrewflatland (headpiece designer), @sokamara (model) and @meredith.e.mua (hair & makeup design). If you have an idea for a fantasy shoot or other concept you would like to explore, please give me a shout! I'd love to help you in creating some keepsake art for yourself, and am also available to support you with any planning needs including location scouting, wardrobe and prop rentals, and hair or makeup services. Welcome to my newest cosplay series! This photoseries is dedicated to one of my all-time favorite Nintendo games, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. The concept was created in celebration of the game's 20th release anniversary, last November; the shots taken several months prior. I'm excited to finally be able to share! The arc of the story follows our young hero Link on his quest to gain the three spiritual stones. Raised as a forest-dwelling Kokiri, yet plagued by nightmares, Link is summoned one day by the fairy Navi to the Great Deku Tree - wise guardian of the forest realm. Link must next acquire a wooden Deku shield, as well as the Kokiri Sword, in order to free the Great Deku Tree from its curse and gain the first spiritual stone. After parting from the Great Deku Tree, Link must leave the forest for the first time ever, and say farewell to his friend Saria, who gifts him a fairy ocarina. Our young hero must now must face the wide outer world of Hyrule, where many dangers are lurking!! To continue his journey, he must sneak into Hyrule Castle (via the courtyard) in order to speak with Princess Zelda and learn the history of Hyrule and the Triforce. The second spiritual stone, Link finds, lies within Death Mountain and is protected by the Gorons. The climb up Death Mountain from Kakariko Village is quite treacherous! Once the second stone is won by freeing Dodongo's Cavern, Link discovers a secret message in a bottle in the waters of Lake Hylia, leading him to the third and final spiritual stone! In order to gain the stone, Link must first rescue Princess Ruto from inside the belly of Lord Jabu-Jabu. It seems the young Kokiri from the woods, who didn't really fit in, has a much greater destiny to play in the land of Hyrule! After winning the three stones, Link returns to Hyrule Castle only to find Princess Zelda and her guardian Impa escaping from the evil Ganondorf on horseback. As she rides away, Zelda tosses Link the Ocarina of Time, and so begins the next leg of the quest! Do you have a fun concept or a cosplay series you would love to shoot? I would be delighted to help you create something fun and meaningful - please get in touch and let's discuss your ideas! |
