Part of the reason I love working with small business owners on self-promotion and their marketing goals is that I hold a deep understand of what a commitment it is to grow a business. So much time, thought, energy and more goes into getting a business off the ground, investing in your brand, working and reworking your offerings, and truly valuing your customers. For this business storytelling session, I was lucky enough to catch a little behind-the-scenes "sneak peek" of founder and proprietor Karyn Schwartz opening up shop this beautiful morning. Centrally located in Seattle's colorful Capitol Hill neighborhood (indigenous Duwamish tribal land), SugarPill is an exquisitely curated herbal, culinary and mercantile apothecary. It really is an amazing space; your spirits and palate will thank you for visiting!

Documenting personal events is truly a joy: I love getting to meet and be around so many different people, but I especially love being able to be a fly-on-the-wall, and capture moments as they happen. It's an honor to be invited into people's lives for these special celebrations - capturing this little girl's outdoor first birthday party was no exception. I am thankful to be doing this work, and most especially if it helps other people be more in-the-moment during their own events, interacting more face-to-face instead of needing to also document everything. Memories are precious; so is time well spent in good company!
